I know what your thinking why do we need another tutorial on this amazing Drum editor when it programs for us? My goal with these projects is to build the foundation for your drum programming, provide you with learning resources, and enhance your ability to finish songs!
What is Logic Pro X Drummer?
Drummer is a extremely powerful and customizable drum programmer. It allows click and play options for drum programming. While still providing a vast array of customization options for advanced users to find that perfect drum vibe.
How to create a Drummer Track in Logic
There are multiple ways to create tracks in Logic Pro X I'm going to show you a few and some tips for using them.
When you create a new empty project in Logic Pro X it will prompt you with a screen similar to the image below and your track options are at the top middle.
To the left of our dropdown menu you should see a red square over and + sign. Clicking this addition button also prompts the same dropdown screen and allows track selection.
Last one I want to show you on this project is our create drummer track track shortcuts. There are many shortcuts for DAWS which greatly enhance our workflow. To drop a new drummer track all you have to do is hold OPT+CMD+U for a new Drummer Track.
Drummer seems cool but how do I edit?
Once we have opened our Logic Pro X project and created a track you should have a setup similar to the screen below.
